Yercaud is situated on the Shevaroys
Hills in the Eastern Ghats of the Salem District of Northern Tamil Nadu. The
hill station is named due to the copiousness of forest near the lake, the name
indicating Lake Forest. It’s a popular tourist destination; Yercaud is also
known as Jewel of the South. Yercaud is allied to the city of Salem, Tamil Nadu
via a Highway of 28 km. Bananas, pears and jackfruit, most conspicuously
oranges, are grown in copiousness, as well as Coffee and citrus fruits.
Scenically, Yercaud is as charming and attractive as the hill stations on the
Eastern Ghats and climbing will be an experience.
The entire county is overseen as a
township. The major industry is tourism, eco-tourism with resorts in the middle

Botanical garden placed at the Nagalur

The Grange is one of the ancient
buildings in Yercaud, built in 1820s by the constituency, who first acquaint

1820 and 1829. It is believed to have been the summer resort of Robert Clive,
wide-ranging of the East India Company in the late 19th century. Pagoda is
another view point in Yercaud, it’s made by stone and it is now house-hold to a
large temple.
